An Update of Student of the Week Awards

With the recent change from school-wide assemblies to Level Assemblies, we have also taken the opportunity to remodel how we acknowledge student learning behaviours, on both a weekly and daily basis.

During the more intimate atmosphere of Level Assemblies we have witnessed a huge increase in engagement and willingness from our students. There has been a willingness to share and celebrate their achievements, from across all of our cohorts. We have also witnessed less competition, or comparisons, amongst cohorts without the pressure of "Student of the Week Awards" being presented.

It is for these reasons that our SWPBL Team is working alongside our Student Leaders to reassess how we can acknowledge positive learning behaviours across our community. Some of the suggestions to date are associated with house points, dojo points, reward boards, intrinsic motivators, class/level celebrations, and so forth.

We have had some really great discussions, and are excited about the new direction we are preparing to take with our school's acknowledgement system.

Stay tuned, as we expect in the coming weeks that we can launch and share with you how we will celebrate positive learning across our community.
