Meet Our New Staff

Karen Oke (ICT Prep - 2)

Heidi Smith - Education Support

Hello, my name is Karen Oke, and I'm excited to introduce myself as a new member of the Bundoora Primary School team. Previously, I held the position of Acting Assistant Principal at a school in Thomastown. However, after starting a family, I took a short break and returned to teach ICT and STEM. During that time, I had the privilege of spending quality time with my two wonderful children, Harrison (14) and Scarlett (12).

I'm absolutely thrilled to have been given the opportunity to join Bundoora Primary School and work with the delightful Preps, Grade 1, and Grade 2 students, teaching ICT. Over the next few months, I'm looking forward to building connections with all the children and their families.

Aside from teaching, I'm actively involved in coaching junior netball at two local clubs. I'm also an avid netball player myself, enjoying a few games each week. As a passionate supporter of the Melbourne Vixens, you may notice some team-related items in my classroom.

I'm eager to embark on this new journey at Bundoora Primary School and contribute to the growth and development of the students. I can't wait to meet everyone and create a positive and engaging learning environment together.

Hi! My name is Heidi. I am passionate about advocating and working with children with additional needs. I have two children of my own, a daughter who is in grade 4 and a son who is in 4-year-old kinder. I have 2 cats (Meow Meow & Ginger Ninja) and a dog (Poppy).

I also work as a swimming instructor specialising in teaching babies, infants and children with disabilities. I love all things health and fitness and I am almost a fully qualified aqua aerobics instructor!

On the weekends you can find me at the footy (Go Roos!) or at my local parkrun! I look forward to meeting you all and working with your children!
