What’s Been Happening in Years 5/6

We have had a massive Term Three in 5/6. From the School Concert to visiting Bundoora Secondary College, Athletics Carnivals, Book Week parades, Swimming and let’s not forget Camp! Here are some of the highlights from our 5/6 B students…

Tanish- My favourite part about term 3 was when we went to Camp Candlebark Farm in Healesville. We had a lot of fun doing the activities and playing games. There were seven amazing activities. My favourite was the super swooper. It was a flying fox that was like 50 metres in the air.

Inara - My favourite part about term 3 was when all the year 5 and 6’s went to camp. Candlebark Farm had a lot of different and enjoyable activities: low ropes, canoeing, super swooper and many more fun activities. My favourite was super swooper and I also enjoyed the disco we had on the 2nd night.

Lex - My favourite part of term 3 so far has been 5/6 camp. On camp, we did many fun activities on camp like low ropes, archery, canoeing, and so many more. My favourite activity was definitely archery because I popped 2 balloons and nearly hit a stump that was really far away. I also really enjoyed book week because I got to dress up as one of my favourite basketball players Kobe Bryant and my best friend Ethan was Stephen Curry.        

Christina - My favourite thing about term 3 was the concert. It was so fun to dance around and watch the other people dance. I also liked Book Week because I got to dress up as a pirate. My favourite costume was Mr Quarrel as Snow White. He was so beautiful. I love the commitment that all the teachers put into creating their costumes.

Grace - My favourite part of term three has been camp and the concert. The concert was fun. I liked watching everyone do their dances. My two favourite activities at camp were archery and the super swooper.

Stella - My favourite thing about term 3 was the District Athletics l because I ran in 5 different races. I came 1st in the 800m race and I will be moving on to Division. I also came 3rd in the 200m race and our school came 4th overall against 7 other schools. 

Oliver - My favourite thing about term 3 is camp. My favourite activities were canoeing and archery which I was awesome at!!! We also had the concert which was SO fun I was scared but once I went out and danced it was all gone.

Harriet - My favourite part of term 3 was definitely Book Week dress-up day. I loved seeing most of the school community show their interest in books. I also really loved the concert, everyone was having so much fun.

Eve - My favourite part of Term 3 was Athletics and District Athletics Day. Athletics Day for our school was really enjoyable because everybody got to have a go at all the activities and events that we did. District Athletics was also really fun because I got to compete in something I was good at. It was good to see different schools coming together and performing such great sportsmanship.

Costa - My favourite part of term 3 was Camp. Camp was super fun, we went to Candle Bark Farm in Healesville. My favourite activity for Camp was the super swooper where you were harnessed up and you were 50m in the air and it was 500m long. Also, we had Book Week. It was really fun watching people do the parade. I was dressed up as a kid from the Pyjama Day book and we got to decorate our doors and vote which door looked the best, which was of course 5/6B door.

Siyona - My favourite part of term 3 was camp at Candlebark Farm. We did a lot of fun activities. I loved the Super Swooper and Ga-Ga ball.  I am really excited about swimming because it is fun. 👍

Addi - My favourite part of term 3 was camp. My favourite activity was the Super Swooper. It was a good experience to enjoy. It was 500m long and 50m in the air.

Christopher- My favourite part about term 3 is going to be Swimming because I find it cool that we get to learn about the safety of the waters. Also, I really loved the concert because we got to watch everyone's performance.

Helios - My favourite parts of Term 3 were the Concert, Camp and Book Week. I loved, Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again and What You Need. I also liked the Super Swooper at camp which was a 500m, 50 metres off the ground flying fox. I was also the big yellow box at the Book Week Parade where I was dressed up as a Multimeter.

Jaycob - My favourite part of term 3 was canoeing because I liked the part where one of my partners for canoeing tipped the whole boat over I got soaked. 

Oscar - My favourite part of term 3 was when I hit both balloons on the target in archery and canoeing.

Kristie - My favourite part of this term is CAMP! Because I love the cabins with my friends and also activities and games. I didn't like the super swooper because it was so scary and too high up for me. Canoeing is so much fun, and I got splashed. Ga-Ga ball is so much fun that I did in my old school. The low ropes course was difficult to do. The Boundary walk was so bad because my legs were hurting me. Archery was very fun to play because I played this before at The Ranch last year. The games room was also very fun. I did so many cartwheels on Thursday night at the disco, I practised some cartwheels every day.

Matthew - My favourite part of term 3 was camp and concert. I didn’t like the activities at camp but I did like the campsite. I didn’t like the dance part of the concert because it was boring.

Amelia - My favourite part of term 3 is camp and swimming, Camp went for three days and each day had different activities and after each one, we had snacks fruit and one or two cookies. The activities were super swooper [kind of like a zip line], canoeing, low ropes, archery, and initiatives. Swimming is coming up and I hope that we can both have fun and learn to swim better, and definitely do not have a better and longer time to change and have a helping hand to help other people to change. 

Hailee - Camp was good, I enjoyed it.

Zane - Camp was really good and the best thing was the zipline and some of the food was pretty nice. The fact we got cabins instead of tents was great and I got to sleep and that's rare for me when I'm at camp.

Cody - I enjoy going outside during recess and lunch.
