From the Principal

As I move around our beautiful 20 hectares of campus during the breaks (in addition to always being so grateful to our founders who identified and secured for us this vast tract of land), I feel a great sense of joy to see what a lively, diverse and fun-filled space it is.

Students practising their hip-hop routine to some high-energy music, peals of laughter from a game of chasey or hide-and-seek, the roar of “out” on the handball court, the ducking and weaving of the basketballers on the blue courts, a card game being played (the rules of which continue to elude me!), jigsaws being completed, tic-tac-toe games being played, academic games and quizzes being battled out…and so the list goes on.

Our campus is indeed a wonderfully dynamic and interactive space.

As part of our commitment to constantly be looking for ways to enhance this vibrant and active, inclusive and united community, we are looking to provide our students with a ‘street piano’. The concept is popular in many places around the world because it allows the joy of music to be shared by everyone.

We are seeking support from our community to see if any families have a piano they are no longer needing and that might therefore like a new home at the College?

Ideally, we’d love to have two pianos – one for the Junior and one for the Senior campus. It is our aim to have our Art students bring the pianos to life with some beautiful artwork, and then have the pianos placed in areas where they can be enjoyed by all. (We’d also love to honour your donation with a plaque on the piano.)

If you have a piano that is in good working order, sturdy yet perhaps feeling lonely in its current situation, we’d love to hear from you! Please email Ben Dahlstrom at ben.dahlstrom@allsaints.wa.edu.au
