Year 10 Met Gala

Gowns

Tina Pronesti

This term, year 10 students were introduced to the exciting world of fashion design.  We looked to the Met Gala Ball that is held in New York each year (before Covid).

The Met Gala is a fundraising event where famous celebrities are dressed by famous designers and gather together to walk the red carpet wearing the most amazing garments.

Students were asked to design gowns inspired by the Met Gala then turn these creations into gowns on our 3D printed mini mannequins.  Students learnt about fashion illustration, fabric suitability for certain designs and constructions techniques.  I’m sure you will agree the results were fantastic.
