Science Week

From 17th to 21st August, we celebrated National Science Week with a fantastic range of activities designed to spark curiosity and get students thinking about the world of science.

Lunchtime Science Demonstrations

Throughout the week, our wonderful Science teachers hosted daily lunchtime demonstrations, featuring Elephant's Toothpaste, Carbon Column, Making Slime, Egg in a Bottle and Fake Wounds. These hands-on demonstrations gave students the opportunity to see science in action and discover some of the fascinating reactions and concepts behind each experiment.

We also held a Daily Science Quiz in our Student Bulletin, giving students another fun way to test their knowledge and get involved throughout the week.

Our PACT Class Celebrates Science Week in a Unique Way

To celebrate Science Week PACT is looking after butterfly chrysalis and observing their changes. We are all eagerly waiting for the butterflies to emerge!

Kids Conference Australia

Another highlight was our involvement in the Kids Australia Conference, hosted by The Royal Society of Victoria. The conference brings together schools from Australia and around the world, and we were delighted to be invited to present once again following our successful participation last year.

This year's theme was Food Systems, with our students undertaking extensive research in preparation for the conference. They delivered a 10 minute presentation, followed by a Q&A session with science experts, who asked questions about their research and to expand on their findings.

Congratulations to our six students, Olivia, Danesha, Kenndrick, Allegra, Asiya and Yuvika, on the enormous amount of work they put into their research and preparation. They represented our College wonderfully, presenting confidently and responding thoughtfully to questions in what was a high-pressure environment. We are very proud of their efforts and the way they took part in this fantastic opportunity.
