Bullying No Way Week

From Monday, 10th August to Friday, 14th August, our College recognised Bullying No Way Week, a national initiative that encourages our school community to work together to prevent bullying.

Bullying No Way Week is an important reminder that everyone has the right to feel safe and included at school. It encourages us to think about the impact our words and actions can have on others and reminds us that we all have a role to play in speaking up when we see bullying happening.

As part of the week, our Student Representative Council (SRC) took a special mural around the College and invited students and staff to sign it. By adding their names, members of our school community showed their commitment to standing up against bullying and helping to create a safe, respectful, welcoming and inclusive College environment.

It was great to see so many students and staff getting involved and shows that when we all stand together we can make a difference. The completed mural has been placed in a special spot at the entrance of B12, so that all staff and students have a constant reminder of our commitment to stand up against bullying.

Bullying is never okay, and everyone has a part to play in making our College a place where everyone feels safe.

Wear it Purple Day

On Thursday, 27th August, our College recognised Wear It Purple Day, a day that is all about supporting LGBTQIA+ young people and creating communities where everyone feels safe and included.

Wear It Purple Day began in 2010 and encourages young people to be proud of who they are. It also reminds us of the importance of treating others with kindness and respect and standing against discrimination and bullying.

To show our support, the SRC held a range of activities in B12 at lunchtime, giving students the opportunity to get involved and recognise the importance of the day.

It was great to see students coming together to support Wear It Purple Day and its message that everyone deserves to feel accepted and supported for who they are.
