Year 8 Students Explore Phillip Island

From Monday, 10th August to Wednesday, 12th August, our Year 8 students headed to Phillip Island for three action packed days of learning and adventure as part of their Year 8 Camp.

Throughout the camp, students had the opportunity to experience some of the unique attractions Phillip Island has to offer. A highlight was taking part in educational wildlife sessions, where students learnt more about some of the island’s native animals. They even had the incredible opportunity to hold a Southern Brown Bandicoot. Students also visited Phillip Island’s famous Little Penguins, learning more about their habitat and the importance of protecting the local environment.

The classroom was swapped for the beach as students took part in surfing lessons, where they learnt new skills and enjoyed time together in the (chilly) water.

Another popular stop was the Phillip Island Chocolate Factory, where students discovered some of the behind the scenes processes involved in chocolate making.

The camp provided a wonderful opportunity for our Year 8 students to learn outside the classroom and spend time building connections with their peers and teachers.
