A Brilliant Month of Basketball
August has been all about basketball at PSC, with students across several year levels representing the College at interschool competitions held at Cardinia Life.
Our Year 7 Girls and Boys Basketball teams kicked off the month on Thursday, 13th August. This was a fantastic opportunity for our Year 7 students to represent the College and put their skills into action against other schools. The teams played extremely well throughout the day, picking up some great wins. Our students represented PSC exceptionally well, demonstrating outstanding behaviour and teamwork both on and off the court.
Next up were our Year 8 Basketball teams, who competed on Monday, 17th August. It was another fantastic day of competition, with some terrific performances across all teams.
Our Year 8 Girls A team had an excellent tournament, progressing all the way through to the finals. Although they were unable to secure the win in the final, reaching this stage of the competition was a wonderful achievement and something the team should be very proud of.
Our Year 8 Boys A team also enjoyed an outstanding day, finishing second overall after a series of impressive performances. Our Boys and Girls B teams also competed brilliantly, recording several wins and showing great determination throughout the competition.
Rounding out a busy month were our Intermediate Boys and Girls Basketball teams, who took to the courts at Cardinia Life on Monday, 24th August.
The Intermedidate Basketballers performed extremely well, enjoying several wins and demonstrating great skill and teamwork. Once again, the behaviour and sportsmanship displayed by our students was exceptional throughout the day.

Behind every successful sporting event are the people who give their time and experience to support our teams and we would particularly like to recognise our student coaches and helpers who assisted throughout our basketball competitions this month.
Their enthusiasm and encouragement to our players was outstanding. Whether they were coaching from the sidelines, helping teams prepare for their games, offering encouragement or assisting throughout the day, they approached their roles with maturity and passion.
Taking on the responsibility of supporting and leading your peers is no small task and we are incredibly proud of the way our student coaches and helpers represented PSC. Their contribution played an important part in making each of these days such a positive experience for our competing students.
Congratulations to all of our basketball players, student coaches and student helpers on a fantastic month. While there were some terrific results, we are particularly proud of the teamwork and sportsmanship demonstrated by our students throughout each of the competitions.
