Be Awesome Day 2026

The Be Awesome Day organising committee, led by Mrs Edwards, have planning well under way for our annual Be Awesome Day to be held on Friday, 30th October. Please keep an eye out for further details early next term.

Father's and Special Friends' Day Breakfast

This morning we celebrated all of our fathers and special friends with a cooked breakfast. It was great to see so many come along and enjoy the morning. We appreciate all that our fathers, father figures and special friends do to support our students at SGPS. We love celebrating these events and bringing our community together.

A special thanks, as always, to our amazing SGPS staff for volunteering their time to set up, cook, serve, clean and pack up. These events are not possible without their support.

Grandparents Day

We are planning to have our Grandparents' Day on Friday, 23rd October. Please share this date with grandparents and special friends. The day will run from 11.30am to 1.30pm (or 2.00pm for those who want to stay and have a snack with their grandchildren). More details will be provided via Compass early next term.

Grades 1/2 Melbourne Zoo Excursion

Our 1/2 children attended their major excursion on Monday at the Melbourne Zoo. We were blessed with beautiful weather, and the students had a fantastic day and represented our school extremely well.

A special thanks to our staff for supporting this excursion, as well as our many parent volunteers. These excursions would not be possible without your support.

Parent, Caregiver and Guardian Opinion Survey

On Tuesday, 18 August, approximately 130 randomly selected families received an invitation to participate in our Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey.

A big thank you to those who have already completed the survey! For those who haven’t had the chance yet, there’s still time—the survey will close at the end of Term 3, on Friday, 18 September.

Your feedback is incredibly important to us as it helps shape the future direction of our school. The survey takes only 10 minutes to complete, and we’d love to hear from as many families as possible.

I know that all families receive a notification in their Compass Newsfeed when the newsletter is released, however, you (or your family members) also have the option to 'subscribe' to the newsletter. To do this, please scroll to the bottom of any page of the newsletter, click on 'subscribe' and fill in your details, i.e. name and email address.

Early School Finish - End of Term

Term 3 will conclude at 2:15pm on Friday, 18th September.  Please make appropriate arrangements for the safe collection of your child/ren due to the earlier dismissal time. There will be no assembly on this day. 

The final assembly of Term 3 will be held tomorrow at 3.00pm.

Term 4 commences on Monday, 5th October.
