Important Announcements

Thunderstorm Asthma Season:
1st October – 31 December
During the Thunderstorm Asthma season, Sacred Heart closely monitors the VicEmergency app for any warnings of High to Extreme risk.
On days when conditions are classified as High or Extreme, students may be required to remain indoors for their safety. Parents and carers will be notified via the SIMON Everywhere app when:
- The situation is being monitored, and/or
- A decision has been made for all students to remain indoors.
It’s important to note that anyone can be affected by Thunderstorm Asthma, even if they have no prior history of asthma.
People at increased risk include those who have:
- A history of asthma
- Unrecognised (undiagnosed) asthma
- Hay fever, particularly seasonal hay fever
- Allergies to grass pollen
All Sacred Heart staff are trained in Asthma Management and carry Ventolin and disposable spacers in their yard duty bags.
If your child has been diagnosed with asthma or allergies, please ensure that their medication and/or Ventolin have been supplied to the front office.
If you have any concerns regarding your child and their risk during the Thunderstorm Asthma season, please contact the school to discuss suitable arrangements.
PAM Outage
Our apologies that SIMON/PAM is still experiencing an outage. The SIMON team is actively working to resolve the issue; however, we do not anticipate PAM access being restored before Monday, 10 November 2025.
In the meantime, please check your email and our Facebook page regularly for updates, as we are currently unable to send PUSH notifications until PAM is fully operational again.
Thank you for your understanding and patience while we work to resolve this matter.
Please do not hesitate to email school.information@shyarrawonga.catholic.edu.au for non-urgent enquires or phone the office on 0357443339.
