From the Year 4 Classroom

After a busy couple of weeks leading up to our two pupil-free days, we hope everyone has enjoyed a well-deserved break and is feeling re-energised for the remainder of the school year.

Literacy - Students have been busily crafting their own narratives, inspired by the structure of our class novel His Name Was Walter. We have been so impressed by the quality of their writing, which has been full of wonderful ideas, vivid descriptions, and engaging storytelling. Next, students will shift their focus to reading and writing poetry.

Maths - Students have commenced a unit on Probability. They will engage in activities that build their understanding of chance by ordering familiar events and outcomes from least to most likely. As the unit progresses, students will conduct chance experiments, record their results, and represent their findings through a variety of graphs.

Inquiry - Students have been learning fascinating facts about a range of geographical features from each continent, such as the Amazon Rainforest, the Sahara Desert, and the Great Barrier Reef. To conclude the unit, students will take on the role of a travel agent, choosing a continent to research and presenting why it is the best destination to visit.

Religion - Students have done a wonderful job producing posters about Caritas. Each poster showcases the incredible work Caritas does and the communities they support, along with inspiring messages that encourage others to make a difference with acts of compassion and care.
