Welcome Back to Term 3!

We hope all our Saltwater P-9 College families enjoyed a safe, relaxing and well-deserved break. As we begin a new term, we are excited to continue supporting our students to thrive both academically and emotionally. At Saltwater P-9 College, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every student feels valued, connected and ready to learn.

A Positive Start

The Wellbeing Team has enjoyed reconnecting with students and supporting them as they settle back into school routines. Returning after the holidays can be challenging for some young people, so we encourage families to maintain regular routines, ensure students are getting enough sleep, and continue having open conversations about how they are feeling.

Throughout the term, students will continue to have access to:

  • Individual wellbeing check-ins.

  • Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) programs supported in their classroom environment.

  • Small group support focusing on friendships, resilience and emotional regulation.

  • Restorative conversations and conflict resolution.

  • Referrals to external wellbeing services where appropriate.

Attendance Matters

Regular school attendance is essential for academic success, social development and maintaining positive connections with peers and teachers. If your child is experiencing difficulties attending school, please contact your child's Year Level Principal or the Wellbeing Team so we can work together to provide support.

Supporting Wellbeing at Home

Families play a vital role in supporting positive mental health. You can help by:

  • Encouraging regular sleep routines.

  • Having daily conversations about school.

  • Promoting physical activity and healthy habits.

  • Celebrating effort and progress.

  • Spending quality time together.

These simple strategies can make a significant difference to your child's confidence and wellbeing.

As the weather gets colder, we often see an increase in jumpers, jackets, lunch boxes and drink bottles being left around the school. If your child has misplaced an item, please encourage them to check the Lost Property located in the Art Room for Secondary students and Front office opposite I.T desk for Primary.

To help lost items find their way home, we also recommend clearly labelling all clothing, lunch boxes and drink bottles with your child's name.

Working Together

Thank you to our families for your continued support. By working together, we can ensure every student feels safe, supported and ready to learn. If you have any concerns regarding your child's wellbeing, please don't hesitate to contact the Wellbeing Team. We wish all our students and families a happy, healthy and successful Term 3.
