KKHS take on a NEW Sport

It may have been the end of term but it was time to take on something new. And for the very first time, we had students represent KKHS in Flag Football!

Flag football is a variant of gridiron football (depending on location) where, instead of tackling players to the ground, the defensive team must remove a flag or flag belt from the ball carrier ("deflagging") to end a down.

It is with thanks to Ms Porters and Miss Hampshire for inspiring our Yeah The Girl group to try a new sport and have the confidence to represent the school. Many of these girls have NEVER represented our school in the sporting arena before!! It was a great day of sportsmanship and fun!!

Under 15's Girls Rugby League

Early in September, we got the taste of true sporting success this week with our U15 Girls team taking out their pool and winning the final today for the NRL 9’s competition!

This was a massive achievement for the ladies as they played with only 1 reserve all day. Special mention to Harper Walmsley who was an absolute key player on the field today. The girls will play in the Grand Final in Term Four, so stay tuned.

A special shout out to Mr Yulianto for his time in making sure our students get to play the game they love. The highlight video below shows the passion our girls have (and thank you to the parent who captured these action shots.

Under 15's Boys Netball

Our U15’s Netball team headed off to Charlestown for a HOT day of competition 🏐 in the second last week of term. The boys played 6 games, coming away with 3 wins and 3 losses. With no subs, they held their own against some strong teams and are commended on their efforts. Miss Hampshire shared that she is

...so impressed with how receptive they were to feedback throughout the day and how well they represented the values of KKHS. And a big thankyou to Keeliah for umpiring all day for us as well.

Rugby League Officials : Beyond the Goalpost Program

We have had the fortune to have the NRL come deliver their Beyond the Goalpost program, taking students through to achieve their officials accreditation. Well done to those students who participated and who now have the knowledge and the skills to officiate a game of league! They will be putting their skills into action in Term 4 when our KKHS students officiate a local primary school gala day.
