Mr Hope
Term 3 has been an incredibly busy and rewarding one at KKHS, filled with learning, celebration, and community spirit.

We began the term with Education Week, which featured a variety of events and challenges designed to showcase student learning and potential. Our Year 8 students enjoyed elective challenge days, where they explored different subjects in fun and creative ways. Throughout the week, students participated in multiple challenges that highlighted their skills and talents. The week concluded with the exciting relaunch of our House system, where students and staff came together in celebration, and Allunga was proudly crowned as House Champions for 2025.

Book Week was another highlight, with our dedicated English faculty dressing up as famous book characters every day—bringing colour, fun, and enthusiasm across the school. Students joined in the spirit with their own Book Week dress-up day, making it a memorable event for all.

Our annual Wellbeing Week reminded us of the importance of connection and kindness. A standout moment was the R U OK? Silent Disco, which combined music, movement, and mental health awareness in a unique way. We also acknowledge and thank our Year 10 boys, who showed great initiative by fundraising for Ronald McDonald House, supporting families in need.

We had the pleasure of showcasing our newly renovated, commercial standard school
kitchens, complete with new appliances, and stainless steel work spaces, with an official opening to wrap Wellbeing Week. Many thanks to Local MP Clayton Barr for joining us, along with past student leaders and our new leaders and their families.

This term also saw us say farewell to our wonderful Year 12 students, who celebrated their final week of classes with themed dress-up days, including the much-loved “Dress as Your Favourite Teacher” day, a mystery excursion, and the traditional whole school clap out. A huge thank you goes to their Year Adviser for the tireless support and guidance provided over the years. To our graduates, congratulations on reaching this milestone! We are proud of your achievements and wish you the very best of luck as you head into the upcoming HSC examinations.
Our senior students have been working hard, with Year 12 completing their Trial Exams in preparation for the HSC, while Years 10 and 11 have also undertaken their end-of-year exams. We extend our gratitude to the Hands On Learning team, whose efforts in preparing the grounds and facilities helped make the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony a truly special occasion.

This term also marked an important moment in student voice and leadership, with the election of our new representatives for the Student Representative Council (SRC), Junior AECG, and Interact Club. We congratulate all students who nominated themselves and thank those stepping into these leadership roles for their commitment to strengthening our school community.
As we look ahead to Term 4, a reminder that school uniform remains an important part of our high expectations, and we appreciate the continued support of families in ensuring students wear it with pride. This is especially important for our Year 11 students, who will officially begin their HSC studies in Term 4.

Finally, we congratulate one of our outstanding students; Georgia Sams who has been recognised with a prestigious Nanga Mai Aboriginal Education Award for excellence in their SBAT studies. This is an incredible achievement and a reflection of her dedication and hard work in her SBAT.
You can find more details on the stories touched upon above throughout the newsletter, along with some videos capturing the highlights.
Thank you once again for your support throughout Term 3. We look forward to continuing this momentum into Term 4.
