Term 2 has been another exciting and productive term for our students, filled with valuable learning experiences, special events, and important milestones.
A highlight of the term was the International Student Education Expo in the city, where students had the opportunity to meet representatives from 34 universities. The expo provided a wealth of information about future study pathways and career opportunities. Students also enjoyed collecting gifts, participating in activities, and exploring the many displays on offer.
Our IELC students continued to learn beyond the classroom through a series of engaging excursions. Visits to the Old Melbourne Gaol, Shrine of Remembrance, Old Treasury Building, and Parliament House gave students valuable insights into Australia's history, government, and cultural heritage. These excursions provided rich learning experiences and helped students build their understanding of Melbourne and Australian society.
We are also pleased to celebrate several students who will transition from the IELC into mainstream classes in Term 3. Congratulations to Jason (Year 9), Ethan (Year 8), Tom (Year 7), Nam (Year 7), and Jayden (Year 7) on reaching this important milestone. We wish them every success as they begin the next stage of their educational journey.
Kathy and Weihan (Year 8) will finish their learning in the IELC and join their friends in the mainstream classes in semester 2. The middle school team will surely support them as they continue to develop their skills and confidence.
Finally, our senior students enjoyed a memorable evening at the School Formal held on 5 June at the Mercure Hotel Doncaster. The event was a wonderful opportunity for students to celebrate together, enjoy a special night with friends, and create lasting memories.
We congratulate all students on their achievements this term and look forward to another successful semester ahead.
