Mr Louis Turner AP Wellbeing, Inclusion and Engagement

Subject Expo and Futures Fair

Next term we begin planning for students' future pathways and subject selections for 2027. In Week One of Term Three, students will receive important information through Connect and FLT classes about subject choices, prerequisites, key timelines, and the support available to help them make informed decisions.

In Week Two, we will host our Subject Expo and Futures Fair, held on Tuesday 21 July. There will be an early finish for this school day (2.15pm, with 5 shortened sessions) and the evening will commence from 5pm. A Compass event, including running times for each Year level, will be published on Compass this term and reminders sent in Week One next term.

As this event forms an important part of the subject selection process, attendance is compulsory for all students in Years 8, 9 and 10, accompanied by parents/carers. We encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about future learning and career pathways.

Subject Expo and Futures Fair is a valuable opportunity for students and families to explore the wide range of learning and pathway options available and to speak directly with subject staff and tertiary providers who can offer guidance and advice.

What to Expect

  • Subject Elective Displays – Meet subject teachers and discuss elective options, course content, and pathways to help students make informed subject selections.
  • Pathways Selection Presentations – Learn about senior school options, prerequisites, and planning for future study and career goals.
  • Futures Fair – Representatives from tertiary institutions, training organisations, and employment providers will be available to discuss courses, careers, and future opportunities. This also includes Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES) representatives.
  • VET Information Stall – Explore Vocational Education and Training opportunities and speak with staff about available programs.
  • VCE Vocational Major Information Stall – Learn more about the VCE Vocational Major pathway and how it may support future career aspirations.
