Principal's Report

Mrs Pauline Barker

As we conclude a vibrant and productive Term 2, I am pleased to share some of the many achievements, initiatives and celebrations that have taken place across our school community.

A key focus this term has been the development of a Staff Wellbeing Framework, in partnership with Adrienne Hornby and Well-Led Schools. This important work reflects our strong commitment to fostering a positive and sustainable workplace culture for all staff. Through collaboration and reflection, we have identified three priority areas that will guide our ongoing efforts:

  • Workload Management

  • School-wide Communication Practices

  • A Consistent Approach to Student Needs

These priorities will continue to shape our decision-making and support structures as we move forward.

During Education Week, we proudly showcased the rich learning experiences taking place within our classrooms through our social media platforms. It was wonderful to celebrate the dedication of our staff and the achievements of our students with the wider community.

We have also continued to build teacher capacity in Disability Inclusion pedagogy and practices, ensuring that all students are supported to achieve their best. I am particularly proud that Greensborough College was invited to present this work at a recent Principal Network Meeting. My sincere thanks to Louis Turner, Jacqueline Melia and Emily Selar for sharing their expertise and representing our school so professionally.

Our Vocational Major Program has provided students with valuable real-world learning experiences through community engagement. Partnerships with Montmorency Secondary College and Streeton Primary School supported collaborative projects, including an off-site Market Day, giving students the opportunity to develop enterprise, teamwork and organisational skills. Thank you to Aidan Clarke who has been leading this work with our students.

In the performing arts, our students once again demonstrated their talent and creativity by participating in the Best of British – Battle of the Bands at Reservoir High School. A special congratulations to our Year 10 girl band, whose performance was truly outstanding and a highlight of the event.

Academically, students have worked diligently throughout the term. The successful completion of the GAT and Year 10 and 11 exams mark a significant milestone, and I commend all students for their preparation, resilience and effort during this period.

We also acknowledged important events that reflect our inclusive school values. Our community came together to celebrate IDAHOBIT Day and Pride Month, reinforcing our commitment to respect, diversity and belonging for all members of our school.
