Hello Deanside!
It’s been a very busy fortnight at Deanside as term four continues to take shape!
Year 3-6 Camp
Our happy campers had a wonderful time at YMCA Anglesea Discovery Camp this week. Students participated in a range of adventure and team based activities that put them out of their comfort zone. Well done to all students and staff that went along and made the camp such a great success, and a huge thank you to Mr Laiton for all of his organisation.
Behaviour on the Community School Bus
We continue to receive reports from students that use the community school bus, as well as concerns from the bus driver themselves, regarding unsafe behaviours from students when travelling to and from school. For parents and carers of students travelling on the bus, we encourage you to discuss with your child about the behaviours on the bus that are showing our school values of respect, responsibility, care and excellence in order for everyone to have a safe journey on the bus.
Prep Transition
On Tuesdays 18th and 25th November, and the 2nd December, will see our 2026 Prep students participating in their transition to school sessions. We look forward to seeing these students enjoy their first interactions with school.

And finally, this will be my (Mr Johnstone’s) last contribution to the newsletter as Assistant Principal. I’d like to thank our wonderful students, staff, parents and carers for being so supportive of me during my time in the role. It has been an honour and a privilege to serve in the school’s leadership team, and I look forward to teaching 5C for the remainder of the year. A special thank you to Mr Telford, Ms Lina, Mrs Gavin and Ms Shana for all of their support and guidance during my time in the role. I am truly grateful.
