This term in STEM our Year 5/6 students have been exploring how data flows between digital systems and how different devices connect and communicate. Students investigated the pathways that information takes when it moves through networks from simple device to device connections to the internet. They examined real world examples such as WiFi, Bluetooth, and cloud storage to understand how data is transmitted, stored, and shared safely.

Through hands on activities and digital simulations students mapped out their own data flow diagrams and identified key components like input, process, output, and storage. They also discussed the importance of data security and how personal information can be protected online. It has been an engaging unit that has challenged students to think critically about how the technology they use every day actually works behind the scenes.
