Preparing for the Show

Being that time of year once again, we have commenced rehearsals for the 2025 Ridgeway Campus Musical: School of Rock. Starting this musical with a completely new creative team in my final year of high school came with some nerves, but these were soon replaced with excitement and anticipation by the warmth and experience that a fresh group of people brought to this project. 

The musical is always a highlight of my school year, and this year is no different as it has once again challenged me to push myself as a performer. Taking on the pathetic yet fun-loving character of “Dewey Finn”, the rehearsal process has encouraged me to learn to sing in an unfamiliar rock voice and play the guitar – two pursuits that have unexpectedly helped me to find balance in my schoolwork. 

Moving forward we have three huge full-day rehearsals during the summer holidays where the focus will be on running the show as many times as possible to ensure we deliver an outstanding show to the school community later next year. 

School of Rock will be playing at Buckley Hall from the 5th-8th of March. We hope to see you there!
