Science Week

The week of 25–29 August was Thornbury High’s Science Week, and it was packed with excitement and discovery.
We kicked off on Monday with some Cool Chemistry experiments, followed by the Year 7 Big Science Quiz on Tuesday, where students battled it out for the title of Science champion. Congratulations to our winners, Flynn Enright, Hektor Lionakis and Milla Gerdtz, for showcasing their impressive knowledge!
On Wednesday, our Physics experts, Mr Foster and Mr Calder, wowed students with their Physics Games of Joy. Thursday saw Miss Copeland share her passion for Australian wildlife and conservation through her favourite board game, Menagerie.
The week wrapped up on Friday with a test of engineering ingenuity, as Mrs McDonald challenged Year 7 and 8 students to build the strongest spaghetti-and-marshmallow tower. A big congratulations to Azlan Ali and Toby Green for their outstanding design.
Thank you to the Science team and all participating students for helping us explore, experiment, and celebrate the wonders of Science throughout the week.
