Year 10 Geography Excursion – Barmah Millewa Forest
Year 10 Geography students recently visited Barmah Millewa Forest, Mathoura where they had the opportunity to engage with environmental professionals, explore local ecological issues, and observe real-life conservation efforts in action.
Students took part in hands-on activities, including water testing, bird hide and fish surveys, vegetation monitoring, and learning about floodplain ecology. At Edward River Campground, they explored fish survey gears and collected data. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to collect primary data and gain practical insights for their report writing. Students enjoyed the experience and came away with lots of new knowledge about the environment.
Thank you to the teachers who accompanied the students on this excursion, Zoya Ali and Peter Phillips.
