From the Year 1 Classroom

Welcome back Grade One families!

We hope you enjoyed a nice break and hopefully soaked up some sunshine in the last week 😊 We have loved seeing our fabulous Grade Ones settle in to Term 3 so seamlessly.

Reminders-  Just a reminder that as a whole school we are working on our morning routine of putting our bags away, doing our jobs and heading out to play. If you could please reinforce this in the mornings also, we would be very appreciative. Thank you!

Readers- Please remember to bring in home readers on a Friday. New readers will be given out this coming Friday. Thank you!

📝Literacy-

In the coming fortnight we will continue to work on informative writing by extending our ‘super sentences’ and we will begin to explore Poetry. Look out for the children using words such as ‘Onomatopoeia’ in the coming weeks!

⭐Digraphs & Trigraphs we are learning:

We have had so much fun this week in our maths lessons! We have been learning how to use informal objects to measure length. We have used objects such as paperclips, pencils, rubbers, glue sticks, iceypole sticks to measure the length of objects in our learning space.
