From the Year Prep Classroom

Welcome back to Term 3! It has been wonderful to see all of our Prep students return with smiling faces, ready for another exciting term of learning.

A friendly reminder that Learning Journals are now due to be returned. We hope you enjoyed looking through your child's journal, celebrating all of their learning from the first half of the year, and reading their school report. Thank you to the families who have already completed the "Two Stars and a Wish" reflection. If you haven't yet done so, please take a few moments to share two things your child has done well and one wish for their learning as they move into the second half of the year.

Parent-Teacher Interviews will be taking place soon, with booking information to be shared shortly. We look forward to meeting with you to celebrate your child's achievements and discuss their learning goals for the remainder of the year.

Our inquiry topic for this term is Old and New. This is an exciting opportunity for students to explore what life was like in the past and compare it with the many things we have available today. We encourage families to visit Mrs Boyer's wonderful display near the library, which beautifully showcases items from the olden days. We are looking forward to learning from Mrs Boyer and hearing the stories and experiences she can share.

If your family has a farm, access to historical items, or any artefacts that you think would complement our learning, we would love to hear from you. Whether it's an object from the past, photographs, or an experience you could share with the children, your contributions would help make our learning even more meaningful.

This Friday, we will be attending Mass at 9:30 am, and we are looking forward to celebrating together as a school community.

We have some wonderful events coming up over the next few weeks:

  • Grandparents Day – Wednesday, 30 July
  • 100 Days of Learning – Tuesday, 4 August. We can't wait to celebrate this special milestone by dressing up as if we are 100 years old, and obviously older and wiser!

Later this term, our Prep students will also have the opportunity to visit Woods Point. This is a wonderful chance for our students to connect with the elderly in our community, brighten someone's day with a visit, and share plenty of smiles.

We are looking forward to another fantastic term filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences!

As always, please reach out if you need anything – thanks Prep Team!
