Some Important Safety Information

Kiss & Drop – Safety Instructions for Families
To help keep all students safe during school pick-up and drop-off, please follow these important guidelines:
🚫 Do Not Park on the Bush Side of Kiss and Drop
- This area is not a designated parking zone.
- Walking between parked and moving cars is extremely dangerous, especially in poor weather or low light.
- If you miss the zone, please drive around the loop and join the line again.
👨👧👦 If Your Child Exits on the Roadside (Opposite the Curb):
- You must get out of the car and supervise.
- Help them safely open and close the door.
- Children have limited peripheral vision and may not see oncoming traffic.
🗣️ Talk to Your Child About These Kiss & Drop Rules:
- Wait until the car is in the Kiss & Drop zone (after the large pole) before approaching.
- Do not run to cars outside the zone – wait until your car is in place.
- Move with the line – keep the car rolling forward slowly until you reach the front.
- Only get in/out when the car has completely stopped.
🕒 Pick-Up Timing
- School finishes at 3:15pm.
- Teachers may take a few minutes to arrive at the gate – students are reminded to wait at the gate before going to the shelter.
- Students not collected by 3:45pm will be taken to the Office where they will be supervised.
Alternate pick up zones:
- Lower asphalt primary courts
York Service Road on other side of Hawkins (pedestrian crossing is staffed)
Safety Alert - Senior School Driveway and Bus Bay
The speed limit through the Senior School driveway will be reduced to 10 km/h. We ask all drivers to strictly observe this limit, as vehicles have been moving too quickly through this busy area.
- Please use the designated pedestrian pathway near the Gym entrance:
- Enter via the steps near the gym door
- Proceed through the middle of the bus bay
Continue up the stairs past the buses to reach the Senior School carpark
- Please do not walk around the back of the buses, and only walk through the bus bay once the buses are completely stationary. This is vital to ensure the safety of all students and families.
Thank you for your continued patience during the 3:40pm bus departure. We understand the driveway can be busy at this time and truly appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone.
