Football Development Program

Term 2 and the start of Term 3 has been jam packed with tournaments and successes in SSV Football (Soccer), AFA Futsal Titles and Community Cups.

 

Achievements below:

 

On Tuesday 21 July our senior boys represented our school in the Australian Futsal Association’s Victorian Champion of Champions Tournament. 

 

Congratulations to our WCC Senior Boys Futsal team on their outstanding victory at the AFA Victorian Champion of Champions Tournament! The event brought together the champion schools from Western Victoria and Eastern Victoria in a showcase of the state's best school futsal talent. Our boys demonstrated exceptional teamwork, resilience, and skill throughout the competition, earning the Champion of Champions title. A fantastic achievement and a credit to the players, coaches, and the entire WCC community.

Having secured our place in the playoff stage we decided to rotate the squad and rest key players in the remaining group games.

SSV Wyndham Division Football (Soccer)

5 of our 8 teams won division and qualified for Western Metro Region. Well done to our senior girls, senior boys, intermediate girls, year 8 girls and year 8 boys’ teams.

It could have easily been 7 of our 8 teams, but the year 7 girls’ competition had a penalty shootout loss but gave it their all and tried hard.

 

 

AFA Futsal Western State Titles and Victorian Champion of Champions

Community Football - U20 Chin/Myanmar Community Cup

FDP coaches were invited to attend the U20 Chin/Myanmar Community Cup held in St. Albans over the school holidays. Many of our students across years 7-12 played in the 8-team competition. Thoo Lei Poe United predominantly made up of past and present FDP students went on to win the cup.

 

For the majority of our students playing organised soccer is only possible due to our school FDP as expensive yearly club fees are a barrier to them joining community clubs. 

 

Please celebrate all our FDP students and their successes in term 3.
