Our ‘New Books’ display has been a popular destination, giving students the opportunity to be among the first to borrow the latest releases and discover new authors and series. Inspired by the tournament, students have been exploring our collection of soccer books, from biographies of legendary players and inspiring true stories to novels, fact books, and guides to improving their skills. It's been fantastic to see the World Cup spark conversations about the game and encourage students to discover new books connected to their favourite teams, players, and countries. Whether you're a lifelong football fan or just catching the World Cup fever, there's something on our shelves to keep the excitement going long after the final whistle.
Library Displays
We design our displays to capture students' attention, spark curiosity, and encourage them to discover books. Attractive and engaging displays inspire students to browse the collection, leading to increased borrowing and a greater enjoyment of reading.
When planning a display, we consider student interests, seasonal themes, and opportunities to celebrate the diversity of our school community. This term, the library featured displays for Multicultural Week, New Books, and Warm Winter Reads.
Our Multicultural Week display celebrated the many cultures, languages, and stories represented within our school community, highlighting books from around the world and encouraging students to explore different perspectives. The New Books display showcased the latest additions to the library, helping students discover exciting new authors and popular titles. As the weather turned colder, our Warm Winter Reads display invited students to cosy up with a great book, featuring heartwarming stories, gripping adventures, and comforting favourites perfect for the season.
These displays do more than promote books—they create opportunities for students to connect with stories that reflect a wide range of cultures, experiences, and viewpoints. By providing engaging and relevant displays throughout the year, the library continues to foster curiosity, celebrate diversity, and inspire a lifelong love of reading.
Coming Up
Book Week : “Symphony of Stories”
We're looking forward to celebrating Book Week from 24–28 August with a week of fun, reading-inspired activities in the Library. Students can enjoy a Dress-Up Day, Year 7 Book Café, Where's Wally? challenge, Manga Day, creative storytelling activities, and finish the week by relaxing with A Book and a Cuppa. We encourage all students to get involved as we celebrate the joy of stories and reading together.

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge
There are only a few weeks left in this year’s Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge. The closing date is Friday 4th September.
All children who complete the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and former premiers.

Scholastic Book Club
We are offering our year 7 students and families the opportunity to purchase books through Scholastic. A Scholastic magazine will be distributed to year 7’s twice per term. Keep a look out for this to come home. Please see instructions for ordering below.
