VCE Geography Fieldwork Excursions

During Term 2, the senior Geography classes completed their fieldwork. Fieldwork is a compulsory aspect of the VCE Geography study design and provides students with the opportunity to engage with real-world geography and practise their data collection skills.

The Year 11 students travelled to the Maribyrnong River to investigate flooding as part of their Hazards and Disasters unit, where they were able to observe the real-life impacts of the 2022 Maribyrnong floods firsthand.

In Year 12, the students investigated land use change, visiting Collingwood to explore the transformation of industrial buildings into high-density residential development and its impacts on the local area.

These experiences remind us that geography is not just a classroom subject - it comes alive when students step outside and engage with the world around them.
