5 Hour Film Festival

This term, we held our second annual Five Hour Film Festival, which saw various groups from across all year levels make their own films within a single school day. 

In the weeks leading up to the event, students formed groups and began to plan their films. They worked hard to write and edit scripts, receiving mentoring from older students to help develop their masterpieces. As the day grew closer, groups prepared shot lists and organised the props and costumes required to bring their ideas to life. When the day finally came, students had just over 5 hours, one school day, to film and edit entire short films.

Whilst the day unfolded, they faced challenges, problem solving and adjusting in order to finish their films. After hours of hard work, a screening of the 13 films was held for a sold out auditorium of friends and families. The audience was riveted - and very patient during technical difficulties! -  immersed in the worlds that the students had created as they laughed and appreciated the student work.

All in all, the event was an incredible success, with students honing their filmmaking skills and creating some amazing films. A huge congratulations to all our prize winners and a special thanks to Sean and the amazing musicians!
