It was an incredible experience for all of us. We caught the bus into the city and then walked the rest of the way to Melbourne University. We entered the Old Arts Building, and were immediately greeted with unknown faces - students from different schools.
It was nerve-wracking to line up and wait outside the room, awaiting our turn to recite the poems. After we all finished, it wasn't as bad as we thought. We only performed in front of one person, a lady, who was very nice and also patient.
We then made our way to Brunetti's for lunch, it was very delicious!
The experience of memorising, learning and going away to better our Italian was the real fun of it all. Although we had to walk to the bus station in the rain, it was definitely worth it. The day was amazing, spending lunch with friends and going through the process of putting Italian words to memory!
Now we wait for the results... stay tuned!
