Earlier in the term we held our whole school Athletics Carnival and once again students amazed us with their energy, participation and skill.

Lessons in PE classes had students well prepared in the skills and techniques required for successful participation, and all students competed in their required three events.

Most competed in more, with some students competing in an impressive eleven events.

Those who finished first or second in an event are now invited to represent our school athletics team at the upcoming District Athletics Carnival.

A special well done to Mr Smith, who worked tirelessly to ensure that the day was well organized, fun and successful.

Students in Years 7 to 9 have now turned their attention to mastering skills and strategies in Invasion Games. This unit includes sports like soccer, football codes, netball, basketball, hockey, frisbee and lacrosse.

Once again, our students continue to impress with their enthusiasm for learning new skills.

This unit also gives students multiple opportunities to develop leadership skills as they take ever increasing chances to lead teams, strategize, coach, include, instruct and officiate.

Our Health Education program continues to see students engaged in new learnings with a highlight being the work of our Year 7 students as they are introduced to the dimensions of health, the stages of life and coping strategies.

Many Year 7 students have impressed with their abilities to work collaboratively in small groups.

Lastly, we take this opportunity to congratulate our Year 8 Netball team who were victorious in our lunchtime whole school netball competition.

Members of this team displayed remarkable fitness, agility, speed and skill to defeat the teachers’ team in a thrilling Grand Final. Once again, we thank Mr Smith, and Ms Tilley who organized the competition. Special thanks also to students Ava and Lily who expertly umpired the final.

Stay Active!
