Inclusion

Inclusion News!
We are thrilled to welcome Cynthia back to Scoresby Secondary College following her maternity leave. It has been wonderful to have her rejoin the Inclusion team, bringing her warmth, knowledge and passion for supporting our students.
We are excited to have her back and know she will continue to make a positive impact across our school community.
This term, selected students have been participating in our 1:1 Social Skills Intervention Program, designed to strengthen the social and emotional skills needed to build positive relationships, communicate effectively and confidently navigate everyday social situations.
The program is delivered in short, targeted
weekly sessions, providing students with a safe and supportive environment to learn, practise and reflect on new skills.
Throughout the five-week program, students explored a range of important social concepts including understanding social rules, recognising verbal and non-verbal communication cues, responding appropriately in different social situations, developing empathy and perspective-taking, and applying these skills across a variety of real-life settings.
Learning was supported through engaging activities such as role plays, problem-solving scenarios, emotion recognition tasks, discussions and self-reflection.
It has been wonderful to see students grow in confidence as they practised new strategies and reflected on their personal progress.
We look forward to seeing these skills continue to develop and transfer into classrooms, the school yard and the wider community.
Together, we are supporting our students to become respectful, resilient and socially confident learners.
