Exploring Creativity in Wood Technology

This term, our students have embraced the exciting new Wood Technology elective introduced at the start of the school year. Every Monday afternoon, students have been actively engaged in practical sessions designed to build both skill and confidence in working with timber.

Under guided supervision, each student has successfully completed their first individual projects; creating pencil holders and chopping boards. These projects not only showcased their creativity but also introduced them to the fundamentals of safe and effective tool use.

Throughout February, students learned to handle a variety of woodworking tools, including the impact driver, nail gun, sanding machine, and wood shaver, among others. It has been inspiring to see their enthusiasm and growing craftsmanship each week as they bring their designs to life.

The Wood Technology elective continues to provide a rewarding hands-on experience that encourages problem-solving, precision, and pride in making something from scratch. We look forward to seeing what they’ll create next as the term progresses.
