Fire Safety Workshop

PRC was pleased to re-invite firefighter Anna Collins, accompanied by her colleague Gabriele Lorenzoni, to conduct a fire safety workshop.

The workshop included instructional videos and comprehensive guidance on how students can respond safely to fire incidents, as well as practical home safeguards that can be implemented to minimise risk. Through real-life event footage, students were able to see how a small flame can quickly escalate into a conflagration.

In addition to the workshop, PRC was fortunate to have Anna organise a fire truck visit, accompanied by four firefighters. Students were able to climb into the truck, learn about the various tools utilised by the crew, and try on their protective attire. It was fantastic to see students actively engaging and asking thoughtful questions of the firefighters.

For the second year in a row, firefighters received an emergency call during the workshop, allowing students to witness the celerity and efficiency with which they prepared to respond to an emergency.

Now that we are in the midst of Summer, it's paramount that Australians know how to keep themselves safe during sultry weather where homes and land are more susceptible to fire incidents.
