Year 9 Forensic Scientists Crack the Case!

This week, our Year 9 Forensic Science students transformed into DNA detectives! Armed with steady hands and sharp minds, they mastered the art of pipetting—carefully loading colourful “DNA samples” into gels just like professional forensic experts.
Using gel electrophoresis, students watched their samples separate into striking banding patterns, revealing the “genetic fingerprints” that help solve real crimes. Excitement filled the lab as they compared their results to find which suspect’s DNA matched the crime scene sample.
It was a perfect mix of science, skill, and sleuthing, proving that our young investigators are well on their way to cracking the mysteries of modern forensics!
