Year 7 Term 3 Interschool Sports
Boys Futsal:
The Year 7 boys represented Lyndale proudly in their recent futsal competition. After a narrow 4–5 loss to Mt. Hira, the team responded with determination, recording three impressive victories: 5–1 against Carwatha, 3–0 against Keysborough Banksia, and 4–1 against Keysborough Acacia. Their teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship were commendable. Big thanks to Ms Fakos for training and taking the team out for sport!
Girls Futsal:
On August 25, the Year 7 girls represented our school in futsal with great spirit and determination. The team started strongly, drawing their first match 1–1 thanks to a fantastic goal from Sana. Crystal was outstanding in goal, even making a brave, match-saving stop with her face! Nyarew showed great strength in defence, while Hariny, Alice, Hasty, Safa and Tanaz all contributed with excellent play throughout the day.
Although the girls lost their second and third games, they displayed excellent teamwork, fairness, and sportsmanship, working well with each other and the opposition. We are proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school.
Boys Basketball:
The year 7 boys went out to Dandenong stadium to playoff for basketball honours. They were gallant as they went on to finish in third place after a couple great wins early in the day. The boys were led by Novak Pavlovic who was the highest scorer in each game we played. Overall, it was a great day with lots of fun to be had!
Year 7 Table Tennis:
The Year 7 Table tennis Team and Year 8 Boys Table tennis team had a great day out at the table tennis centre. With a valiant effort, the Year 8s won against Carwatha and had narrow losses to Dandenong and Keysborough. Thanks to Mr Zhang for training and taking the team out for sport!
Year 8 Regionals
Regional Girls Netball:
After a successful day at Division netball our Year 8 girls earnt a spot at Regionals. We took on the challenge starting the day strong with control and flair. As the day progressed, we continued to build our on court connections. No matter the score the girls always had a smile on their faces giving everything a go. Other schools and umpires coming up congratulating our team on their positive attitude and great sportsmanship. Big thanks to Ms Poulton for training and taking the girls out for sport! Congratulations on a great day of netball!
Regional Boys Soccer:
Super proud of the Year 8 boys who represented Lyndale at the Regional Soccer competition, going up against some of the top schools in the area. The boys put in a fantastic effort, narrowly going down 1-0 to Glen Eagles and then fighting hard against Glen Eira in their pool match, despite a last-minute team change. They went down 4-1, with a highlight goal from Imran Rasuly who scored an absolute cracker from outside the box.
Ms Maxwell and the team were proud of the effort, teamwork and spirit shown on the day, and are already excited to come back stronger next year in the intermediate’s competition! Thanks to Ms Maxwell for training and taking the boys out for sport!
Regional Boys Netball:
Well done to the Year 8 Boys Regional Netball team, who recently made the trip to Frankston to play the best teams in Melbourne’s southeast. This was a level up in competition, and we are extremely proud that the boys managed one win on the day! Two losses meant that unfortunately Lyndale won’t be going through to the next round, but it was a great experience and gutsy work.
Year 8 Sport:
Girls Basketball:
Our year 8 girls basketball team went out on Tuesday the 12th of August, and put on a stellar performance. Despite a packed schedule with four games back to back without a break, they managed to win four games out of five for the day. Their first two games were against Keysborough Acacia and Mt Hira, where despite the first halves of both games being close, halftime adjustments and constant offensive and defensive pressure led the team to victories. Special shout out to Elise and Siarrah for spearheading the offence, while Hannah and Martha had spectacular defensive performances. Well done to our girls and thanks to Reuben for training and taking the girls up for sport!
Their only defeat was a 5-point loss against Dandenong High in their third game, but the girls refused to allow this loss to demotivate them, as they kept their spirits up in order to win the remaining two games of the day in dominating fashion. Huong, Tia, Theodora, and Kharlitah all had invaluable defensive and rebounding moments in these final two games. The day ended with a wild three by Kharlitah, who had been waiting to shoot one the whole day, and made it with her only opportunity. They should be proud of their team effort, performance, and sportsmanship throughout the day. Big thanks to Reuben our schools sport assistant, for training and taking the girls our for sport!

It was a dominating performance as all Lyndale players chipped in and got on the scoreboard, winning all games by double digits. Well done to all the boys for putting in great efforts defensively and offensively. Congrats on making it into Regionals!! Big thanks to Mr. Neilson for training and taking the team out for sport!
Year 8 Table Tennis:
The Year 7 Table tennis Team and Year 8 Boys Table tennis team had a great day out at the table tennis centre. Year 8 Boys Futsal Team:
Congratulations to our Year 8 boys who made it all the way to the grand final in the Futsal! After some incredible wins, it came down to a nail-biting match against Dandenong. With only one minute left on the clock, Dandenong managed to score, leaving Lyndale just one point short of victory.
Although the result was close, the effort, teamwork, and determination shown by our boys was outstanding. Well done to all the students who played so hard – Ms Maxwell is super proud of you all! Big thanks to Ms Maxwell for training and taking the team out for sport!

Our Intermediate Girls Futsal team had a fantastic day representing the school at the recent interschool competition. Inter Table Tennis Boys:
The table tennis team had an excellent day out for sport! The first round had Henil, Saren, Aleem and Chanithu all playing their singles games, with Henil and Pav and Aleem and Chanithu playing doubles against Carwartha. These boys didn’t lose a game. Second round Lyndale was on a Bye but third round Lyndale was up against Keysborough Acacia with some tough competition. The same boys played singles with doubles having Nish and Saren and Henil and Aleem. Lyndale again, didn’t lose a game in any of their rounds!
