It’s hard to believe we only have two weeks left of school—what a fantastic effort from our Stage 3 cohort as we head towards the end of term!
Our Year 5 students have approached their NAPLAN assessments with focus, resilience and a positive attitude. They have worked diligently across all areas, demonstrating their learning and applying the skills they have been developing in the classroom. We are proud of the way they have supported one another and taken these assessments in their stride.
In English, our students have been building their skills in crafting rich literary descriptions as they prepare for narrative writing. They have been exploring how to enhance their writing by using similes, prepositions and carefully chosen descriptive language. It has been wonderful to see students experimenting with their ideas and bringing their stories to life through more vivid and engaging descriptions.
In Science, our students have been exploring the fascinating concept of changing matter. Through hands-on experiences, they have investigated how materials can transform in different ways—from cooking and observing how ingredients change with heat, to creating slime and exploring chemical reactions. These engaging activities have sparked curiosity and deepened their understanding of how matter can change, making learning both fun and meaningful.
