Sustainability

Shannon Sargeant

Year 9 students have undertaken the ‘NO Planet B’ unit in Science and Humanities this term. They have investigated how the Earth’s spheres interact to maintain a healthy environment and how human behaviours have both negatively and positively impacted the environment. In the final week of term, the students have participated in a number of activities to positively benefit the College environment. These activities include a waste audit – to see if we are using the College bins correctly, a biodiversity audit – to determine ways we can improve habitats on campus and planting along the new B-Wing building. Thanks to all students for the positive way in which they have completed these tasks.

Holiday Activities

If you want to do something positive in your local community these holidays, here are a couple of ideas.

Event: The Great Southern Bioblitz: Sept 20th to Sept 23rd 2024 is part of a global movement to encourage everyday people to practice citizen science all whilst enjoying their nearby natural areas.    Participate in the Bioblitz by heading outside into your local areas to capture the range of biodiversity you can find during the southern hemisphere spring.
