Year 7

Troy McGown

In Term 3 the Year 7’s have recently been finishing some CATs from a range of subjects. This term for the English CAT, we all had to pick a topic of our choice and create a presentation about it. We had to stand in front of our class and present our topic to everyone. Our presentations had to include an introduction, three main points and a conclusion. This was a fun CAT that showed our different personalities in our own chosen topics.

In Science we are learning about endangered animals. Each of the Year 7 students was assigned an endangered Australian animal to create a campaign about for the CAT. We had to research our animal and then put the research into a campaign in the form of a PowerPoint, poster, podcast, pamphlet, video or newspaper article.

The Year 7 classes then went to Healesville Sanctuary over three days - 20th, 21st and 26th of August. Each of us got a booklet which had questions to fill out. Each class had to do a quick lesson on a bird and dingos to help fill out the sheet. We then got to wander around, see all the cool animals and complete the rest of the sheet based on information provided by the Sanctuary. It was a really fun day!
