From the Principal & Assistant Principal

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff, students and community for a successful Term 2. As always it has been a term jam packed with lots of learning, excursions, sports, extra curricular activities and some great school events. Without the support of all we wouldn’t be the school that we are. Over the last two weeks we have:

  • completed our Aqua Aware program for our Year 3-6 students

  • held the Branch Out Men’s Health night

  • held the PFA disco for students in F-6 and cake stall

  • opened our Semester 1 student reports

  • held Parent Teacher Interviews

  • conducted JSC Casual Clothes day to raise funds for MND

We are happy to announce that in early Term 3 we will be having some new AV equipment (screen, speakers, microphones) installed into our hall, this would not have been possible without the support of our generous school community. We will be using locally raised funds to provide this resource and this has been approved by our School Council. This equipment will improve the way we are able to share with our staff, students and community and we are looking forward to exploring all the possibilities.

In Term 3 we have some great opportunities planned for our students including our bi-annual Maths Olympics day and Family Maths night, Book Week and the Smile Squad Dental Van visit. We also have one final opportunity for Parent Teacher Interviews on Tuesday 14th July, if you missed out on making a booking please contact the office.

Thanks to the Woodend CWA Eves for their generous donation of $200 towards our library to purchase either digital or hard copy resources to support our school community. We are fortunate to be supported by many community organisations and this support means we are able to access fantastic additional resources for our students to share.

Please don’t forget that as tomorrow is the final day of Term 2 students will be finishing at 2.30pm. Students return to school on Tuesday 14th July, staff will be participating in a curriculum day on Monday 13th July.

As you will have seen in the Compass post from last night, students are allowed to wear a small item of green or gold tomorrow in celebration of the World Cup and Australia’s participation. Students will be allowed to watch some of the Australia vs Paraguay match at school tomorrow from 12pm.

Please be aware that the Macedon Ranges Council will be undertaking the construction of a long planned for footpath on the cemetery side of Buckland Street over the school holiday period. This footpath will improve safety for all when transitioning from drop off points into the school. We are hoping they are complete by the beginning of Term 3, to reduce interruption of traffic flow around the school.

We wish you all a happy and safe break and look forward to welcoming you all back for Term 3.

Community New page

Many Community groups, theatre, sporting groups etc from the Macedon Ranges area send in flyers (on a regular basis) for activities coming up each term or during school holidays.  We place these flyers in the Community News section of our newsletter.  Please take a moment to browse through the flyers for anything that may be of interest.
