Prayer to Our Lady of Mount Carmel

O beautiful Lady of Mount Carmel, 

Mother of Jesus and our gentle mother, 

we turn to you today with hearts full of trust and gratitude.

You listened with faith, loved with courage, 

and walked humbly with God. 

Teach us to follow your example - 

to be people of prayer, peace, and compassion.

As you once watched over the prophets on Mount Carmel, 

watch over our College community. 

Inspire our students, guide our teachers, 

and bless all families who are part of our shared story.

Wrap us in your loving mantle 

when we feel uncertain, afraid, or alone. 

Help us to see God in the everyday, 

and to live our lives with purpose and hope.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 

pray for us and lead us always to your Son, Jesus.

Amen.

Mount Carmel Day Reflection – My Page… Our Story

Mount Carmel Day is a special day in our College calendar - an opportunity to celebrate our identity, honour our heritage, and reflect on the journey that connects us all. This year, as we embrace the theme “My Page… Our Story,” we are reminded that each member of our community including students, staff,  and families contributes uniquely to the living story of Mount Carmel College.

At the heart of our story is Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a symbol of faith, inner strength, and unwavering trust in God. Her example invites us to write our own pages with courage and grace, grounded in prayer and service. She teaches us to find quiet strength, to persevere in love, and to remain faithful in our calling - just as she did on her own page of salvation history.

Our foundation is also built on the bold and compassionate vision of the Sisters of Charity, whose story began in service to the poor, the sick, and the uneducated. They were women of action and faith, whose values of justice, humility, and hope continue to shape our mission. Their story has become our story - and we, in turn, now write the next chapter.

As we gather to celebrate Mount Carmel Day tomorrow, we stand not only in remembrance but in hope. Each page we write today - through our learning, relationships, leadership, and care adds to the greater story of our College. Together, my page becomes part of our story, a shared narrative of faith, courage, and community.

Holidays

As we come to the end of a busy and rewarding term, we extend our warmest wishes to all our Mount Carmel families for a safe and restful holiday break. This is a time to pause, to reconnect with loved ones, and to enjoy the simple joys of family, rest, and renewal. Whether you are travelling, spending time at home, or simply enjoying a slower pace, we hope these holidays bring moments of peace, laughter, and gratitude.
