Community is the spirit that draws people together.
As we reach the end of Term 2, we pause to celebrate the incredible journey our school community has shared together. This term has been a testament to the power of dedication, resilience, and the unwavering spirit of our students who have embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and determination.
A Celebration of Learning and Growth
Term 2 has been marked by remarkable academic achievements and personal growth. We have witnessed our students tackle complex concepts with curiosity, engage in meaningful discussions, and push themselves beyond their comfort zones. From innovative work to thought-provoking debates, our learners have demonstrated that education is not just about acquiring knowledge, but about developing critical thinking skills and a lifelong love of learning.
The commitment to challenging oneself has been evident in every classroom. Students have embraced difficult tasks, persevered through setbacks, and celebrated breakthroughs with their peers. This growth mindset has created an environment where mistakes are viewed as learning opportunities and where every student feels empowered to reach their full potential.
Celebrating Our Strong Girls
We are particularly proud to celebrate the remarkable students in our Primary community who have demonstrated exceptional focus, determination, and commitment to excellence. These strong girls have shown us what it means to pursue goals with unwavering dedication while supporting their peers along the way. Their leadership (no matter what year group) in academic pursuits, collaborative projects, and peer mentoring has been truly inspiring. And all done with kindness, empathy and love as they foster resilience, respect, compassion and contribution - our PBS values.
Looking After One Another
One of the most beautiful aspects of Term 2 has been witnessing the care and compassion our students have shown for one another. From basic things such as welcoming new students, greeting staff, to random acts of kindness, our Primary students have truly embodied the spirit of community.
Our Restorative leaders, our buddy system, our check ins and ensuring all students are welcomed as well as the many collaborative learning initiatives have created bonds that extend far beyond the classroom but across the year groups. These relationships have fostered an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to be their authentic self.
Our co-curricular programs have flourished this term, providing students with diverse opportunities to explore their passions and develop new skills.
Sport has brought out the competitive spirit and teamwork in our students. From weekly training sessions to inter-school competitions, our athletes have demonstrated sportsmanship, perseverance, and school pride. The lessons learned on the field extend far beyond physical fitness, teaching valuable life skills about collaboration, leadership, and resilience.
The Arts have allowed our creative spirits to soar. Our music ensembles, drama productions, and visual arts exhibitions have showcased the incredible talent within our school. These programs have provided students with outlets for self-expression while building confidence and fostering appreciation for creativity and culture.
Enrichment programs have provided unprecedented opportunities to extend their intellectual horizons through competitive academic pursuits that challenge both mind and character. Tournament of Minds has started, chess and chess competitions in full swing, LEO every week, debating has wrapped up again and their are a myriad of competitions that are on offer across the whole Primary
Faith Journey is a constant within the classrooms as well as when we gather as a community. It is also who we are and what is expected of us throughout our day to day. As a community we have celebrated different liturgies, important times in the Catholic church as well as understanding that God is love and how do we show love always.
As we all head into the Term 2 holiday break please stay safe, prioritise your well-being and enjoy some time to stop and breathe - if you are able to. Students if you're traveling, spending time at home, or participating in holiday activities, please remember to:
As we celebrate the achievements of Term 2, we also look forward with excitement to Term 3. The foundation of learning, growth, and community we've built this term will serve as the launching pad for even greater achievements in the term ahead.
Thank you to our students, families, and staff for making Term 2 such a memorable and successful experience. Your dedication, support, and commitment to our school community make all the difference.
Dear Mary
We come before You with hearts full of thanksgiving for the precious gift of our parents/carers. You have blessed us through their loving hands, their patient guidance, and their unwavering support throughout this term.
Mary, we thank You for the countless ways our parents have shown us love - through their sacrifices, their encouragement in times of struggle, their celebration and kind words. Their kindness has been a reflection of Your own mercy and compassion.
We are grateful for the late nights they spent helping with homework, the running around to different sporting or cultural pursuits, he words of comfort offered, and the prayers they whispered on our behalf. Through their care, we have experienced a glimpse of Your perfect love for us.
Bless our parents, Mary, as they have blessed us. Grant them health, peace, and joy.
May they feel our deep appreciation and know how much their love has meant to us.
Help us to honor them not just with our words, but with our actions and the lives we lead.
Mary, Mother of Jesus, who cared so tenderly for her Son, interceded for our parents and all parents everywhere. May they continue to be instruments of your grace.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Pray for us.
The Louisa Centre
On Tuesday 22 July our Kinder and Prep students start in our new space and we are so truly excited. This week we have been able to get the space set up, take our students down to assist in the transition and also show off all that has been achieved. It is important to note the work done by our Kinder and Prep staff over the last few weeks in ensuring that the move will be smooth. I also want to acknowledge the hard work and support shown by our amazing, visionary and passionate Principal, Mrs Megan Richardson. Without her drive, commitment and ‘never say die attitude’ this would not have happened. It is also important to note the work gone on behind the scenes by Mrs Kerrie Loveluck, our Business Manager and the College Board, who have all made this truly amazing building not just a talking point but a place of calmness, a place that brings joy and I know a place that will hold lifelong memories for our Mount Carmel community.
Kinder and Prep Parents
