Alira Wolstencroft

Alira has recently been selected to be a part of the Maori NSW International Touring Representative Netball Team that will play in tournaments over a 8 day period early 2025 in New Zealand. This is a great opportunity and EHS can't wait to hear the results.

 

NSWCHS Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to the following students who competed at the NSWCHS Athletics Carnival.

Joshua Ratu - 3rd in 15 yrs Boys 200m

Tom Collins - 13th in 13yrs Boys Long Jump

Zac Baloglow, Joel Collins, Max Soire and Aaron Prodromou - 4th in 17-19 Boys 4x100 Metre Relay

 

Under 15’s Boys Basketball

The Under 15’s Boys Basketball Team played in the Sydney South West Knockout Central Venue Day. They played two games, however, they unfortunately lost their first game against Condell Park and lost their second game by 2 against Bonnyrigg. This knocked them out of the competition. Well done to Jackson Shimmin, Ben Cartner, Jett Formosa, Zachariah Henkel, Lucas Linden, Lucas Martin, Kyan Walker, Jesse Webber and Raphael Antonio. 

 

Under 15’s Girls Netball

The Under 15's Netball team played at NSW CHSSA Knockout Competition Finals on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th October at Illawarra Sports Stadium. They placed 5th out of 15 NSW public schools. They remained undefeated against every non sports school which is an incredible achievement. Special mention to Emma Y, of Year 12 who umpired a variety of schools over the 2 days demonstrating her expertise and skills in umpiring. This is a major sporting achievement for Elderslie High School and we are so proud of this team. Well done to Mia Piliae, Alira Montoya Seru Wolstencroft, Charli Smith, Zaiah Williams, Annalise Smith, Charlotte McKenzie, Indie Smith, Ruby Domanski, Sophia Budd, Phoebe Lee and Hayley laws. 

 

Helayna Gibson

Helayna received an invitation to trial for East Mallorca Cup, All stars U16 Team Sydney and was selected out of 16 girls as a goalkeeper for the team. The team trained for 5 days in Barcelona and had two trial matches. Then flew over to Mallorca Island for the three day tournament where they played 4 games. They competed at a high standard in the tournament but unfortunately fell short due to multiple injuries within the team and not enough players to continue. The competition was tough, playing teams from Scotland, Madrid, Norway and Denmark. EHS is very proud of Helayna’s achievements!

 

Bethanie Collins

Bethanie Collins was selected to be part of the U19’s Sydney Team to compete in the Surf Cup International held in Salou, Spain. The tournament was across multiple days and against the top players around the world. She was a key defensive player in a tough match against Real Madrid and stopped a key goal scoring opportunity. Congratulations to Bethanie for being selected and well done for your achievements in the tournament.

 

 

SSW Open Girls Cricket Team

Georgia Grubisa in Year 8 was selected into the SSW Open Girls Cricket Team. She competed in the NSWCHS Girls Open Cricket Championships in Week 5 of Term 4. The team placed 8th overall. Well done Georgia!

NSWCHS Disability and Inclusion Tenpin bowling Final

The Support Unit is proud of achieving 3rd in the NSWCHS Disability and Inclusion Tenpin Bowling Championships in Week 3 of Term 4. It was exciting to see EHS among the top 30 schools across NSW at the finals. Well done to Trystan, Erana, Dante and Daniel for your winning efforts. A special mention to our coaches Mrs Castillo, Mrs Hovey and Mrs Robinson.

Isabella Trevena

Isabella Trevena has participated in the SSW Regional Softball teams for numerous years. She has already been a recipient of the SSW Regional Blues Award for softball. This year, she is the winner of the prestigious President's award for SSW Region Blues. 

 

Furthermore, Isabella attended the NSW CHS Blues Awards where she was acknowledged as an outstanding recipient of a NSW Combined High School Sports Association Blue in the sport of Softball. Only one student in the NSWCHS receives this award. Congratulations Isabella. EHS is very proud of you!

 

SSW Boys Baseball Team

Jordan Barnes in Year 10 was selected in the SSW Boys Baseball Team for 2025. Welldone Jordan!

 

SSW Girls Softball Team

Tenika Williams in Year 8 was selected into the SSW Open Girls Softball Team for 2025. Congratulations Tenika!

 

GWS AFL Gala Day

In Week 7 of Term 4, selected students from Year 7 and 8 competed in the Stephen Coniglio and Amanda Farrugia AFL Cup in Birrong. The students competed hard all day, with both boys' teams even versing each other in one of the games. The girls team came away as the winners, earning the runners up medal to Westfields in the Grand Final. All students are to be congratulated on their efforts on the day.

 

NSWCHSSA Water Polo Championship

Alexis from Year 11 competed at the NSWCHSSA Girls Secondary Water Polo Championship as part of the SSW Team and Cooper from Year 9 competed at the NSWCHSSA Boys Secondary Water Polo Championship as part of the SSW Team. They both placed 8th overall with Day 3 of competition being their best with a couple wins and close games with an unfortunate loss. Special mention to Cooper for being the top goal scorer for his team. Well done to Alexis and Cooper!

 

Blue Wren House 

The staff and students at EHS participated in a fundraising event for the local domestic violence shelter, Blue Wren House. Students wore mufti clothes and participated in a bake sale to raise funds for the shelter. Students also competed in a basketball house sporting challenge at lunch and answered trivia questions during their Period 5 lesson. 

 

A big shout out to all staff and students who donated money, baked goods for the bake sale or participated in the activities throughout the day. As a school, we raised $725 for the Blue Wren House, which is an amazing achievement!
