First Nations Education

UWS Pathways to Dreaming Year 9 and 10 Campus Visit

Year 9 and 10 First Nations students headed to UWS Campbelltown Campus as part of the Pathways to Dreaming Program. During the day they participated in a variety of workshops for courses that are offered at the Campbelltown Campus.

They built towers and bridges, balanced and ran up and down stairs and checked vital signs. Lots of budding engineers, project managers, physiotherapists and nurses in the group!!

It was an awesome day and the students were excellent representatives of Elderslie High School.

Yarning Circle Artwork

The artwork that students have been working on is up in the Yarning Circle and it looks brilliant!!!! Students assisted the General Assistants to install the artwork which provided the students with some skills they can use out in the workplace.

Also a big thanks to Ms Wallace for all her work organising the mural and working with the students

All those that contributed should be very proud!!!!

Student Awards

Three of our students received awards at the Annual Aboriginal Student Achievement Awards. This is a huge achievement as hundreds of nominations are received across the region. A big congratulations to:

Matthew P, Year 12: Kari All Rounder Award

Ayden T, Year 8: Literacy Award

Kayden N, Year 7: Numeracy Award

Congratulations to Matthew P, Year 12, who was also a recipient of an award for Academic Excellence at the annual Nanga Mai Awards. The Nanga Mai awards are for public school students from across NSW and celebrate outstanding contributions to Aboriginal education. Only fourteen students receive this award, with one recipient in each category. Well done Matthew, what an achievement and EHS wishes you all the best in your endeavours next year.
