Community Notices & Reminders

ROAD SAFETY

As we continue to grow as a College community, we would like to remind all students and families about the importance of safe and responsible behaviour when arriving at and leaving our Senior Campus and Junior Campus.

The College has recently received concerns from members of our local community regarding traffic and road safety around Morris Road, Fortitude Drive and Ampersand Boulevard, Everton Road particularly during peak drop-off and pick-up times.

We have been made aware of instances where vehicles are stopping in No Stopping/No Parking areas, in community member driveways as well as stopping on or near the traffic-light-controlled intersection on Morris Road to drop off or collect students. These practices create significant safety risks for students, pedestrians and other road users.

Please follow all road signs and restrictions

We ask that all parents and carers:

  • Only drop off and collect students from legally permitted locations.
  • Do not stop on Morris Road at or near the traffic lights or intersection, even for a very short period.
  • Be mindful of all No Stopping and No Parking restrictions.
  • Please remember at the Everton campus there are many students and families from Wareen Primary using the footpaths and also parking cars; please be careful.
  • Be mindful of pedestrians, cyclists, buses and other vehicles during peak times.
  • Allow additional time for drop-off and pick-up rather than stopping in an unsafe or restricted location.
  • Follow the directions of road signs and traffic-control measures at all times.

Thank you to our families for your cooperation and for helping us ensure that every student can arrive at and leave Bemin safely each day.

Please slow down, follow the signs, use the designated areas and put safety first.
