Girls' Robotics Workshop | October school holidays

Devil Robotics is running a hands-on introductory robotics workshop for girls aged 10–14 during the October school holidays, open to students from across the region regardless of school or background.

Using the LEGO SPIKE Prime platform, participants will build and program their own robot over a 3-hour session, with small groups ensuring plenty of individual support. No prior experience is necessary. The workshop is designed as a first taste of robotics and being part of a robotics team.

Time: 1.00pm–4.00pm (girls only)
Venue: Sustainability Learning Centre, Mt Nelson
Ages: 10–14
Places: Limited to 16 per session
Cost: $20 per person

Nippers | Kingston Beach Surf Life Saving Club

Kingston Beach Surf Life Saving Club is gearing up for another fantastic Nippers season, with registrations now open for new families.

Nippers is open to children aged five to 14, with places currently available across all age groups. This year, the Club is especially keen to welcome more older Nippers in the U11, U12, U13 and U14 age groups, and newcomers are absolutely encouraged, even if they've never participated before.

For older Nippers, this season also marks the beginning of their lifesaving journey. Participants have the ability to work towards nationally recognised First Aid and Surf Rescue qualifications, setting them on the path to becoming qualified lifesavers and joining beach patrols across Tasmania.

The season kicks off at Kingston Beach on Sunday 8 November.
