2025 The Gap State High School – Year 10 Careers Day
During Week 8 of Term 2, our Year 10 students will be commencing their journey into future planning by participating in our Careers Day. The headline event for the day will involve a visit to the Brisbane Careers & Employment Expo. Queensland’s largest Careers & Employment Event is open on June 12 to 14, 2025 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. The Expo will host over 160 organisations and employers with career opportunities for all ages.
Prior to visiting the Brisbane Careers & Employment Expo, students will be participating in our own unique Gap State High School Careers Expo. Students will choose from a smorgasbord of information sessions to attend during the morning on site here at school. I am very excited to share that we have 13 different guest speakers representing different career pathways this year. Some of these include Law, Engineering, Medicine, Trades, IT and Health.
These sessions are designed to be contextualised to our students here at The Gap and will provide them with an opportunity to network, ask questions and seek guidance on many different career pathways. In conjunction with Career Planning information that is occurring over the coming weeks in Applied Positive Psychology (APP Class) and Connect lessons, the Careers Day will form an important part of our student’s preparation for their SET Planning Interviews which will beoccurring during Week 5 of Term 3.
