Subject Selections, Celebrations and Looking Ahead

As we reach the midpoint of the term, there is a strong sense of purpose across the school with students reflecting on their learning, considering their future pathways, and celebrating important milestones.

This Term’s Focus: Being Kind At The Gap SHS, our values guide everything we do. This term, our spotlight is on Being Kind, which encompasses humility, forgiveness, fairness, generosity, love, and prudence.

Students are reminded to:

  • Respect others' rights to learn.
  • Give due consideration to different opinions and experiences.
  • Show empathy, fairness, and gratitude in daily interactions.
  • Maintain personal space and be considerate of others in classrooms, around the school, and at events.

It is important we are working together to create a culture of kindness – where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected.

For more on our school-wide expectations, see the full matrix is showcased in classrooms.

Year 9 and 10 Subject Selections – TRIAL Now Open

Year 11 – Subject Change Window Open

Congratulations to our Year 11 students for completing their first set of block exams – a significant milestone in your senior journey!

As Unit 1 concludes for many subjects, students considering a subject change are encouraged to speak with a Guidance Officer (Wellbeing Hub #2) or the Pathways & Performance team (Lower Q Block) as soon as possible. All subject change requests must be submitted by Friday, 6 June 2025 (Week 7)..

Year 8 Camp

A big thank you to our staff who supported the Year 8 camp at Maroon Dam. Time away from home brings rich opportunities for students to challenge themselves, build resilience, and deepen their connections with peers and staff. We’re proud of how our students embraced the experience and the way they represented our school.

Thank you to all students and families for your engagement during this busy term.
