Work Experience and Structured Workplace Learning

As part of our Year 10 program, students have the opportunity to participate in Work Experience, where they secure a placement aligned with their future career aspirations.

We were thrilled to have Tugra Uzun complete his placement with the office of the Honourable Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP. Tugra gained a valuable insight into the world of politics and parliamentary processes.

Reflecting on his experience, Tugra shared:

"I had an incredible opportunity to visit the 60th Parliament of Victoria. Alongside my supervisor and other Year 10 work experience students, I attended a conference, toured Parliament House, and, most excitingly, sat in the Legislative Assembly Chamber during Question Time. It was fascinating to watch politicians debate and discuss important issues. I got a real glimpse into the life of a politician and can't wait to take over their jobs one day!"

We thank the office of Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP for supporting Tugra's work experience placement and helping him explore his future career ambitions.

One of our Year 11 VM students, David Huynh, recently completed his structure workplace learning placement at the Post Office Hotel in Coburg. During his placement, David gained experience working in the commercial kitchen and supporting the organisation of events, while developing his cookery and hospitality skills.

Reflecting on his experience, David said:

"I'm currently completing my placement at the Post Office Hotel in Coburg. I've gained experience working in the kitchen and collaborating with others. It has been a great experience and has gone by so quickly. I hope to explore similar pathways in my future career, as the skills I've learned at the Post Office Hotel have been very useful to me."

We thank the team at the Post Office Hotel for providing David with this valuable opportunity and supporting the development of David as he prepares for a future in cookery.
